Community of Practice Event 2025

This event is now sold out. We will be hosting a similar event in December.

Event Title: Autism, ADHD, ‘personality disorder’: thinking about brain, body and diagnostic journeys

This COP is aimed for people who are working in, have lived experience of, or who are interested in the field of neurodivergence, ‘personality disorder’ and co-occurring physical symptoms. We will hear three speaker presentations bringing research, clinical and lived experience perspectives on autism and ADHD, hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, ‘personality disorder’ and diagnostic journeys across the lifespan. Followed by Q&A panel with all speakers and small group discussions.

DATE: Thursday 11th of September 2025

TIME: 1:30pm – 4:30pm

VENUE: Online via Zoom

Aims of the event:

To hear perspectives on autism, ADHD, adverse childhood experiences and personality disorder/difficulties; to hear about physical health problems which commonly co-occur with neurodivergence, thinking about brain-body links and how diagnostic overshadowing can complicate people’s healthcare journeys.

    • To discuss how diagnostic overshadowing may occur and how this affects people.
    • To collate and bring together group discussions to end with summary of key points that will be shared with those attending.
    • To facilitate introductions and develop networks of people with shared interests.
