Marie Duffy is an Irish writer and mental-health advocate with over 20 years of experience promoting youth empowerment and compassionate mental-health communication.
She is the founder of the Unwind Your Mind blog and former Editor of SpunOut.ie, where she helped shape Irish national conversations around youth mental health. Marie has written for leading Irish publications including The Irish Times, The Irish Independent, and TheJournal.ie.
Marie brings lived-experience insight to her work. She was appointed by the Minister for Mental Health to the national and monitoring committee for Sharing the Vision — Ireland’s national mental health strategy — where she represents the perspectives of those with personal experience of mental health challenges.
Today, she works as a Communications Officer for Mental Health Ireland, Ireland’s oldest mental health charity. She has also served on multiple advisory panels supporting youth participation and mental-health services, contributed to the International Declaration for Youth Mental Health, and spoken internationally on mental-health recovery and engagement.
Marie is passionate about using clear, compassionate storytelling and lived experience to drive meaningful change.
